Production

Technology is always helping carrying out our projects.

The selection of which type of production, the craftsmen, the stylists, the designers, the architects or artists, chosen for the realization of your dream projects is decisive for the making of a most special rugs.

Hand knotted 100% handcrafted production.

Our hand knotted carpets are made in Nepal.

In Nepal, rugs making has become a traditional handicraft stemming from the migration of Tibetan refugees during the 20th century.

This ancestral knowledge is continued nowadays : the Himalayan handspun wools and the splendid silks reveal the full expression of colors. The rug’s handmaking requieres fourteen stages, each of them essential to their perfect realization.

The universes of Damien Langlois Meurine, Alnoor and Ary Guss are imagined and unfolded through the know-how of special ateliers in Kathmandu area.

Hand tufted – half handcrafted half mechanical production.

This production technique starts with a cotton canvas stretched over a frame, just like a wide sheet of white paper.

Using a black felt pen, the production atelier’s designer reproduces the original picture and numbers each color zone with a great precision.

Then, equipped with a tool named « gun », the tufting can begin and it will not stop until the cotton canvas is fully covered with color threads.

The carpet is then laid on the ground and the chiselling and the precise bordering of wool or other materials can be carried out.

The rug back is latexed later, in order to stabilize the picture.

Then a final checkup and last details will complete the job.
